Avalanche Journal: Pittsburgh’s “Big Three” a record-setting, standard-bearing trio for Colorado’s stars to emulate

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 00:31:30 GMT

PITTSBURGH — Mikko Rantanen was 12 years old when he saw Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang win the Stanley Cup together for the first time.Nathan MacKinnon’s admiration for Crosby is well documented, but Rantanen was a big fan of No. 87 growing up as well. So 18 years, that’s a long time. And to be as good as they’ve been, it’s pretty crazy, to be honest. I’m not surprised it’s the first time ever. They’re all top-tier players, which makes it even more special.”Those s...
