The Ravens entered the final day of the NFL draft on Saturday with three picks — Nos. 124 (fourth round), 157 (fifth round) and 199 (sixth round). They used the first of those selections on Ole Miss edge rusher Tavius Robinson. The Ravens love their edge rushers, and in Robinson they got a 6-foot-6, 257-pound defender who had 44 total tackles last season, including eight for loss. He also had seven sacks and five forced fumbles, both of which led the team.Robinson’s seven sacks ranked sixth in the Southeastern Conference, while his five forced fumbles put him in a tie with Houston’s D’Anthony Jones to lead the nation. Robinson, who was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, which is about an hour west of Toronto, had 28 tackles, 4 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 1/2 sacks coming off the bench in 2021.That he even ended up at Ole Miss was somewhat fortuitous.Robinson, 24, spent his first two years of college football playing at the University of Guelph and dreaming of t...NWS says San Diego is in the peak of marine layer season, but why?

SAN DIEGO -- If you've noticed an increase in low hanging clouds or lingering fog in San Diego County's coastal areas recently, there's a reason why.The National Weather Service says the region is in the peak of marine layer season. The question is: what creates these hazy weather patterns in the spring? The answer is as simple as this -- cold water. Coastal fog contributes to what NWS calls ‘Gray-pril’ Air temperature normally decreases with height, according to weather officials. Due to the cold Pacific Ocean in the spring months, however, NWS says the air temperature in coastal areas increases with height instead. NWS says this results in a temperature inversion. The air below that inversion is called the marine layer, which is cooled to the point at which clouds form, weather officials explained. NWS shared this image to explain the marine layer. To explain this phenomenon further -- As the San Diego region progresses towards summer months, the ocean temperature gradually rises ...Pipeline restores gas flow after lightning-sparked inferno

CORINTH, Miss. (AP) — Natural gas is flowing again in a Mississippi pipeline after a towering blaze Friday that officials believe was caused by a lightning strike. The pipeline’s owner, TC Energy Corp. of Calgary, Alberta, said Saturday that it had “completed operational adjustments.” The Canadian company notified its customers through an electronic system that it was lifting the force majeure it had declared on Friday. The contract term allows the pipeline to curtail deliveries because of forces outside the owner’s control.Tina Faraca, president of TC Energy’s U.S. Natural Gas unit, told investors on a conference call Friday that the blaze caused “very minimal impact to facilities.” Alcorn County Emergency Management Director Ricky Gibens told local news outlets that firefighters were called to the compressor station of the Columbia Gulf Transmission Pipeline northeast of Corinth around 1 a.m. Friday. He said it appears that lightning sheared off a piece of pipe and set the na...Trump ups competition with DeSantis in planning trip to Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The competition between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis is intensifying as the former president is scheduling a return trip to Iowa on the same day that the Florida governor was already going to be in the state that will kick off the Republican contest for the White House.A Trump campaign official said Saturday that the former president plans to be in Iowa on May 13 to headline an organizing rally at a sprawling park in downtown Des Moines. That’s when DeSantis was already slated to headline Iowa Rep. Randy Feenstra’s annual summer fundraiser in northwest Iowa and speak at a party fundraiser later that evening in Cedar Rapids.A Trump campaign aide said the May 13 event had been in the planning stage for weeks. The move is a sign of the escalating competition between the two men who, at least for now, are leading contenders for the Republican presidential nomination.
